Atascadero Restaurant Guide
Like many other cities in California, Atascadero is the home to many restaurants with a wide range of options to please any palate. The restaurants in Atascadero offer informal to formal menus that include Mexican, Chinese, Thai and American cuisine along with soups and sandwiches.
Most of the Atascadero restaurants are located downtown on El Camino Real but there are also some tasty dishes at the restaurants on the other side of Highway 101. Being so close to Paso Robles wine country, you can expect to drink some of the best local wines when dining in Atascadero restaurants.
About Atascadero
The lovely city of Atascadero is located right in the middle of San Francisco and Los Angeles and only 25 minutes north of San Luis Obispo. Atascadero is known for its State Hopsital and the Charles Paddock Zoo which is near the beautiful Atascadero Lake Park. The lake features BBQ areas, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits.
The weather in Atascadero can be a little warmer during summer and a little cooler during winter since it is a little further inland than most other San Luis Obispo County cities.
Since 1973, there has been an annual celebration called "Colony Days" in Atascadero for its founder E.G. Lewis. E.G. Lewis had envisioned Atascadero as a utopian, planned colony and now it has grown to over twenty-eight thousand residents in size.
